Work as an Events Manager
The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) is a multi-million dollar industry containing the hosting and organization of an event. Many institutes pay a lot of money to arrange the logistic side of an event. This industry contains a large variety in corporate conferences, music festivals, product launches, branch-related events, exhibitions. The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) industry is still growing and therefore Professional Event Organizations demand more skilled personnel. Particularly interpersonal skills, management skills and financial insight on a high level are important in the industry. Not only organizational skills but interaction with stakeholders, insight in new media and marketing strategies are significant issues. Training students to become all-round MICE organisers with theoretical and practical experience is the central goal of this module.

  • Experience events in the Arab world, specifically in Qatar, a rapidly developing Arabic country
  • Gain valuable knowledge of the international events industry and the global trends and various challenges it encompasses
  • Meet industry experts and witness large scale events first hand.

Each minor is worth 15 ECTS credits and is offered in English in Qatar. EM1 concludes with research assignments, oral defence, theory exam whereas as during EM2 students conduct practical events which are assessed based on their active participation, commitment, dedication, creative thinking and attendance.
