  • Dr Nandini Alinier joined Stenden University Qatar in October 2013 from the School of Engineering and Technology at the University of Hertfordshire, U.K., where she worked for 12 years and last held the position of Programme Tutor. At heart, she is a passionate educator and in 2006 obtained national recognition in the UK as the recipient of a Teaching Award from the Higher Education Academy Engineering Subject Centre for her innovative work. She adapted a practical assessment methodology used in healthcare education, known as the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), with Electronic Engineering students. In 2009-2010 she was nominated by peers and students for a University of Hertfordshire Vice Chancellor award as “Tutor of the Year”. Having worked with students from many nationalities in her previous academic institution, Dr Alinier has been invited to co-author a book (“English for Telecommunications”) as part of a series dedicated to students whose first language is not English and which will soon be released for publication. In her previous role, Dr Alinier has worked collaboratively with academic institutions in France, Canada, China and Sri Lanka. Thanks to her professional commitment and engagement in higher education, Dr Alinier was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK.
